Rotavirus pigeon disease
Exhibitors of pigeons may be aware that a highly infectious disease caused by a rotavirus has been detected in pigeons in several Australian states. In order to protect the flocks of our valued pigeon exhibitors the Wentworth Show Society Inc will require a declaration re the status of the exhibitors loft with respect to pigeon Rotavirus. This declaration must be forwarded to the Chief Steward at least 2 weeks prior to arrival at the show.

The decision of the Senior Steward is final, regarding the health and/or condition of any bird being exhibited. He may refuse admission to, or have removed from the Pavilion, any bird whose condition, in his opinion, could be detrimental to any other Exhibit.
Young Birds must be rung with the correct ring to be eligible for Young Bird Sections. Any Bird wearing coloured or identifying band other than a Cyper band, or more than one ring or privately marked will be disqualified.
Exhibit must be Exhibitor’s property and Exhibitor’s name and address must be placed on the nomination form.
The committee reserves the right to restrict entries if staging facilities are insufficient to meet the demand.
In any other colour or any other variety classes, exhibitors must state colour and breed on nomination form. If committee considers sufficient nominations, extra classes will be provided.
If insufficient entries are received in classes of a Breed, the Committee reserves the right to combine any such classes of that Breed as it deems fit.
No person other than a judge or Steward shall, at any time after penning, touch, handle or remove any exhibit before closing time of Show, except with the consent of, and in the presence of, a Steward.
Please ensure that Birds are correctly entered in the correct section. If you are not sure, contact the Chief Steward or an experienced fancier. Exhibitors who wish to display “For Sale” notices on their exhibits must secure such notice from the Stewards.
