ALL ENTRIES FREE- POST ENTRIES. ENTRIES STAGED: By 9.30 a.m. Friday 29th August 2025
SECTION RULES: Fleeces must not exceed 12 months growth and a declaration to this effect may be required. The fleece to be shorn
from sheep that have been at the property of the exhibitor for at least six (6) months prior to the show.
Sheep must be grazed on pastures under natural rainfall to the district from which they are brought and no exhibit shall be considered as
grass fed which shall have been artificially fed in any way or at any time during the year immediately preceeding the show or kept as a pet.
Provided that any sheep fed or housed for a period not exceeding 21 days immediately previous to exhibition shall not be deemed to be
artificially fed, always provided that sheep are not rugged. The use of Vitamin A is allowed.
Awards will be made on a scale of points. Same conditions as the sheep section apply. All fleeces to be lightly skirted by exhibitor.
(No belly wool to be included.) Fleeces are from ewes and wethers. No rams’ fleeces.
MAJOR AWARDS:
MCLEOD TROPHY – Donated by the McLeod Family, Wentworth
Open to all exhibitors in the Open and Commercial Section of the 2025,2026,and 2027 Annual Wentworth Shows.
First and Second Prize Ribbons will be awarded in this section. An annual trophy will be given for the exhibitor with the greatest number
of points at each of the shows, and an aggregate trophy willbe given to the exhibitor with the greatest aggregate of points for the three
shows. Points will be allocated in classes 3001-3006 in the following manner.
First Prize 10 points, Second Prize 5 points plus 1 point for each exhibit entered, with a maximum of 5 exhibits per class.
TODD BRAINE SPECIAL PRIZE
OPEN to all exhibitors outside a 50km radius of Wentworth.
An annual prize of $50 will be awarded to the exhibitor with the greatest number of points allotted as 1st- 10 points, 2nd- 5 points and 1
point for each exhibit and an aggregate prize of $100 will be awarded to the exhibitor with the greatest aggregate of points for the three
years 2025, 2026 and 2027.
